Interpret and respond to this quote by the narrator: “He found himself understanding the wearisome of life, where every path was an improvisation and a considerable part of one’s waking life was spent looking at one’s feet.”
The beginning of the quote “He found himself understanding the wearisome of life, where every path was an improvisation" Most likely means that Ralph was realizing that his entire life is just improvising. You can plan and plan to your hearts conent, but there is almost no time where everything works out as planned. Therefore you have to improvise on what to do next. This is the awful truth that almost nothing goes as you want it to.
The second part of the quote, "a considerable part of one’s waking life was spent looking at one’s feet.” Is probably refering to having your head hang low because of sadness or failure. Another awful truth, that although there are many great accomplishments in your life there will be just as many sad and painful times, sometimes even more than the good. However, I hope for you that there is much more good then bad in your life. Unless I don't like you then I wish the oppisite, just kidding.
